The End of the Easter Bunny

For some reason Adam has been talking to one of his friends at school about the Easter Bunny. This friend Assured Adam that the Easter Bunny is not real. Adam started to talk to Richard about the issue, and they asked us both if the Easter Bunny really existed. I told them to ask Dan, and Dan told them to ask me. We finally decided that we could let this little game go. When we were putting them down to bed they asked us one last time, "Is the Easter Bunny really real?" We responded, "No, the Easter Bunny is not real." Adam and Richard looked at each other, and then back at us, and Adam said, "But what about the lettuce and the carrots, and the Lego sets we got, and the candy?" "That was all you guys!?" Adam had put out carrots and lettuce the past few years for the Easter Bunny to eat. We had been bitting off pieces of the carrots or just hiding the stuff he put out and telling him that the Easter Bunny had been eating it. It took him a minute to totally accept what we were telling him. He asked again, "That was really you guys the whole time?" He didn't have too hard of a time, but he began to ask about Santa and the Tooth Fairy, we decided that one disappointment was enough for one night and we assured he and Richard that the rest of those characters were real . . .

Florida #2- Mostly Rainbow Springs

Day #2 with Nanny and Papaw Mitchell was a lot of fun . . .

Pictures after church. Papaw was so nice to watch Sammy during church so we could enjoy the service.

Relaxing on the back porch.
Petting the neighbors tortoise.
Richard posing for the camera.

Relaxing on the front porch.

More golf cart rides, the boys were in heaven.
The biggest crape myrtle we have ever seen.

Walking to Rainbow Springs. Rainbow Springs is the headwaters for the Rainbow river. The park was incredibly beautiful. The trails are lined with waterfalls, azaleas, and other amazing tropical plants.

First view of the headwaters.
Visitors can swim in the headwaters. The water was crystal clear and as blue as any water we have ever seen.
Adam mimicking Papaw.
Getting dirty in the streams.
