Multiple Posts In One

Samuel's Blessing Day
We really enjoyed having family and friends come to Provo to
celebrate Samuel's blessing day.

Bowling with Papa
We had a fun time bowling our grandpa at BYU.  Richard won the game with a score of 116

Adam's Kindergarten Class
We visited Adam's Kindergarten class and teacher this week.  His
teacher is Mrs. Tingey at Westridge Elementary.

Living Planet Aquarium
We had a fun time visiting the aquarium in Sandy.

A Visit to Adam and Richard's Namesakes
We visited the Salt Lake Cemetery to show Adam and Richard the Graves
of the men they were named after.  Richard was named after his great great great grandfather Richard W. Young who is the grandson of Brigham Young and was a Brigadier General in the Army.  Adam is named after his great great great great grandfather Adam Sharp who was a cole miner in Scotland.  Adam and his two brothers left Scotland to join the Saints in Salt Lake in the 1840's.  He helped to build the Salt Lake Temple.

(Our) Adam enjoyed visiting the grave and didn't want to leave, he said "I'm going to miss him," when we left.

Sammy's doctor Visit
We took Sam to his 4 month old doctor visit.  He did great!  He didn't love the shots but he only cried for a minute.
Adam waited patiently for sammy to finish his appointment

Sammy is rolling around quite a bit now

Adam's Lego Creations
The boys are into Legos, to say the least, and Adam loves to build his own little designs.  He gets a Lego magazine that shows pictures of kids with their own Lego creations.  Adam thinks that all his stuff is magazine worthy so he has us take pictures of his Legos after he builds them

We had a stake Picnic this summer and they had a talent show.  We told Adam that maybe he could build Legos for his talent.  We didn't think he would really take us too seriously.  When it came time for the talent show he asked about building some Lego stuff for the crowd.  When we told him that they didn't have time for any more talents he got really teary eyed and walked away.  Kids are so innocent and trusting, we'll never make that mistake again.
Dan's sister and brother-in-law invited on a fun trip to Utah Lake this past weekend.  We had a great time playing games, riding jet skis, boating and hanging out.  Thanks guys!

Richard's most recent sayings:

-"Skunks spray babies and kids and whole families!"

-After hitting his leg on our kitchen table he yelled, "You need to take this table back to the store!!!"

-After Adam told Richard that he was going to fill his bed with diapers Richard declared, "Then I am going to go live at a place called Grandpa's house!"

the ice cream truck...

The ice cream truck has plagued our street for weeks.  So it is a constant source of conversation with the boys, "when is the ice cream truck coming?"  "can we get ice cream when he comes?" "did you hear that?  I think it was the ice cream truck." etc. etc.  We had told the boys after days of begging that the next time the truck comes they could get something.  Little did we know that 'next time' would be at 8:30 PM as the boys were getting in bed.   Thanks ice cream truck man for driving by our house at 1 mph blasting "it's a small world".  So true to our word they were  HAPPY  participators of the ultimate summer time experience.

The ZOO

The fam with Dan behind the camera

We are having our last days of summer here before Adam starts school, so we are trying to make good use of our 'free' time.  (Have you noticed that 'free' time can be kind of expensive?)  So we went to the zoo last Monday and had a really fun time.  There were lots of new baby animals this time, which makes it a little more fun.  It was cool to see the animals up close and the boys loved it.  Richard's favorite was the alligators and Adam's favorite was the monkeys.  I liked the baby meerkats and Dan liked the monkeys, just in case you wanted to know.

The boys loved the train ride
We had a little extra excitement later that day when Dan helped get a little boy who had somehow jumped over a fence and ended up on the track as a train was coming, crazy!
