Rock City

First, some pictures of the boys as they arrived home from school. Richie celebrated his 100th day at school - (what a milestone, I guess.?) Sammy loves to look out our living room windows and watch for Adam and Richard to get home from school. He gets so excited to see them, he gives them both a big hug after they come in the door.

Well, if you have ever wanted to go to Rock City, here's your chance, at least in a semi-virtual way -- through about 40 pictures from our excursion. Anyone who travels within 500 miles of Chattanooga will see the huge signs on the freeway advertising Rock City. You'd think it must be the greatest little spot on earth, those signs saying, "See Rock City" are everywhere! It sits on top of Lookout Mountain and has some of the most scenic views around. It's not cheap either, we've wanted to go for the past year but it wasn't exactly in the budget. Dan managed to get a few free passes, so we decided to go see the place. It's not peak season, and it would no doubt look even more beautiful in the spring, when all of the gardens are in bloom, but Rock City in February was still pretty impressive. It would have been slightly more enjoyable without two little babies, but even with the two youngest, we still had a great time. Sammy walked almost the entire way, he never cried, and he climbed the stairs without complaint. We, and about three other people, were the only people in the park, that made for a quiet, semi- relaxing trip. Bottom line, Rock City is worth the trip! If you ever visit Chattanooga, it's worth paying the $25 or so to get in.

"Fairyland" is all underground. The walls are lined with huge crystals, and other gems. There are dozens of little caverns that have been turned into fairy tale rooms. The rooms have displays that are all lit by black lights, each display tells one of your favorite fairy tales.
